Sobriety prayer of the day 1
Your Innermost Self is not clairvoyant. The Self does not know the future.
My parts most intensely involved in recovery are full of anxiety about the future of sobriety. None of the Nine Promises have been fulfilled for me yet.
Here is a prayer for your Self to pray, and to invite your recovering parts to pray with you.
[God,] give us joy to balance our affliction
for the years when we knew misfortune.
—Psalm 90
And then you can imagine either your Self or [God] reassuring your parts:
I will lead the blind on their journey;
by paths unknown I will guide them.
I will turn darkness into light before them,
and make crooked ways straight.
—Isaiah 42
